Multi-platinum recording artist, co-founder of Great Big Sea, radio talk show host and entrepreneur, Darrell Power has been a familiar and dedicated voice for Newfoundland and Labrador throughout his entire career.

Further to his successful music career, Darrell turned his attention to helping and investing in other local artists and entrepreneurs.  He is the founder and President of Old Tyme Music Ltd. Consulting, through which he provided advisory services on special projects to the Provincial Government, the Crohn’s and Colitis 2010 Gala Celebrations and the Gonzaga High School 50-year celebration.  In 2006, Darrell
opened the Stagehouse Recording Artist Studio. He also became co-owner of the Epicurean Kitchen, a first-of- its-kind restaurant in downtown St. John’s.

Since 2014, Darrell has hosted radio talk shows with VOCM where he facilitated and moderated important discussions on municipal, provincial and national topics. This work has given him a unique and valuable opportunity to engage regularly with people on issues that affect every aspect of our lives. Darrell’s strong communications skills come from his ability to balance listening with talking.

Darrell has also been a volunteer coach for children’s sports teams as well as a volunteer with Art Smarts Songwriting programs in both Primary and Elementary Schools in St. John’s. A devoted lifelong learner who was named Memorial University’s 1999 Alumni of the Year, Darrell holds three post-secondary
degrees including a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Communications.
